Owls Battle To Draw with Renegades

No. 14-ranked Citrus College battled from behind to settle for its first draw of the season, tying Bakersfield College 2-2 Tuesday night.

The Owls move to 12-3-1 overall and hold onto third place in the Western State Conference-South standings with a 6-2-1 mark. The Renegades slide to 9-4-3 on the year and 4-4-1 in conference.

Bakersfield struck first, but Edith Mendoza had a response for the Owls in the 38th minute off a Kaylee Sanchez assist.

The Renegades once again got an upper hand, but Abigail Salvador tucked in a Jayme Beatty pass in the 70th minute to keep the Owls in the game.

Maddy Moris finished with four saves to hold onto the tie for Citrus.

The Owls head to LA Valley on Friday for a 2 p.m. kick-off.
