Owls Keep It Rolling On Day Two

Valley Glen, CA -- The Citrus College kept things rolling on day number two of the 2014 Western State Conference Swimming Championships on Friday. The Owls picked up 44 more points, as they currently sit with 77 on the week.

Sophomore Kirsten Pampu and freshman Kimberly Torres got things started off in the 200 Individual Medley. Pampu finished 15th (2:36.32), while Torres grabbed 16th (2:38.09). Sophomore Chelsea Fujita-Haffner followed that up with the best performance of the weekend thus far, finishing 4th in the 50 Fly (27.90).

Sophomore's Kendra New and Julie Gongwer then added a pair of strong finishes in the 50 Breaststroke. New finished 15th (38.03), just out touching Gongwer who nabbed 16th (38.50). Sophomore Mackenzie Shinall rounded out the day with a 16th place finish in the 50 Back (33.48).

The third on final day, takes place on Saturday.
