Olivier and Kasnetsis Pace Owls in Season Opening WSC Pentathlon

Ventura, CA – The Citrus College Women's Swim team kicked off their 2017 season over the weekend when they participated in the annual WSC Pentathlon. Freshman Hunter Olivier and sophomore Marisa Kasnetsis paced the Owls at the event, which has all individuals swim 100 yards each of the fly, back, breast, free, and individual medley.

Olivier had the best overall finish of any Owl finishing in 12th place. It's the second best finish in the Pentathlon by an Owl since the program was reinstated in 2013. Olivier's best event came in the 100 Free where she posted a time of 58.66 seconds. Her second lowest time came in the 100 Fly where she posted a time of 1:10.41. Overall, Olivier posted a time of 5:59.58, finishing just six seconds out of a Top 10 finish.

Kasnetsis, who was the Owls' top finisher in this even as a freshman last year, finished in 21st place. Kasnetsis knocked nearly a full second off her total time from last year with a total time of 6:06.54. She posted a time of 1:03.69 in the 100 Free and 1:11.98 in the 100 IM.

The Owls will take a break from action before returning to the water in the annual Mt. SAC Invitational which takes place at the end of the month.
