Owls Finish 3rd at WSC #2

Woodland Hills, CA - The Citrus College Women's Swim team continued it's 2017 campaign on Friday afternoon when it participated in the WSC #2 Event hosted by Los Angeles Pierce College that included the Owls, the host Brahmas, and Allan Hancock, Bakersfield, Santa Barbara City, and Ventura Colleges. The Owls finished a respectable third on the afternoon, besting the Bulldogs and Brahmas, but falling just shy of Vaqueros and Pirates. 

 Individually, freshman Victoria Pena set the tone with a 2nd Place finish in the 1000 Free and a time of 12:24.92. Teammate and sophomore Sabrina Fregoso finished in 3rd Place in the event, with a time of 12:46.81. In the 200 Free, freshman Chloe Barrocas picked up some valuable points with a time of 2:07.16.

After that, freshman Megan Card and Clare Romero claimed the top two spots in the 100 Back, with Card posting a time of 1:06.21, and Romero on her heels with a time of 1:07.92. The team wrapped up some valuable points with the 200 Free Relay where Barrocas, Card, Pena, and freshman Hunter Olivier teamed up to take second place with a time of 1:49.38.

On the afternoon, the Owls totaled 76 points. Their point total was well in front of fourth place Bakersfield, but also fell shy of second place Ventura. The Owls will be back in the water in two weeks when they participate in the WSC #3 Event hosted by Santa Monica College. The first swim is scheduled for 10:00 AM.
