Glendora, CA -- The 2012 All-Western State Conference South Division team was announced recently, and things were good in the middle for the Owls. Freshman middle blocker Kayla Eddings and sophomore middle blocker Kim Collins both earned 1st team honors, while five other Owls earned 2nd team or Honorable Mention honors.

After earning All-WSC South Honorable Mention honors as a freshman, Collins built on her 2011 campaign in 2012 posting 172 kills, a .290 hitting percentage, and 44 total blocks. Collins ranked second on the Owls this year in all of those categories, helping guide Citrus to their first post-season berth since 2006. Collins averaged an impressive 2.7 points per set for Citrus.

Eddings meanwhile just wrapped up one of the best freshman campaigns for an Owl in recent memory. Eddings led the Owls in kills (192), kills per set (2.67), hitting percentage (.341), blocks (47), solo blocks (26), and points per set (3.2). In addition Eddings added a respectable 80 digs and eight aces.

Earning 2nd team All-WSC South honors were a pair of sophomores and a freshman. Sophomore opposite hitter Kassidy Greenberg, who earned 1st team honors as a freshman, had 125 kills, 15 aces, and 36 blocks in 2012. Sophomore libero Breanna Stone led the Owls with 280 digs and averaged 3.64 digs per set. Her sister, freshman setter Amanda Stone also earned 2nd team honors, recording 757 total assists on the year and 200 digs the second most on the team. Stone's average of 9.83 assists per set was the 11th best mark in the entire State in 2012.

Rounding out the honors was sophomore outside hitters Chelsey Martinez and Alexis Lunney. For Lunney it was her second straight Honorable Mention honors as she had 148 kills, a .185 attack percentage, and 87 digs. Martinez meanwhile earned the award for the first time, racking up 153 kills and 104 digs.
