Women's Volleyball Digs Deep For 2nd Win

Women's Volleyball traveled to Orange Coast College Wednesday for a doubleheader against OCC and Southwestern. The Owls struggled to get it going against OCC, dropping the match in 3 sets. But Citrus turned it around for the 2nd match, sweeping Southwestern.

The Owls have struggled early in the 2018 season, capturing just its 2nd win on the year. The Owls have been exclusively a road team so far in 2018, playing many doubleheaders and tournaments, but coming up short, compiling a 2-9 overall record.

The silver lining, is Citrus has seen some standout individual play. Freshman pin-hitter Summer Edington, who is a transplant our of Lincoln, Nebraska, is leading the Owls in total kills with 70. Esperanza High School standout setter Gina Lipscomb, a Freshman,  is having a great breakout season totaling 118 assists, for a game average of 6. The reigning WSC Libero of the Year, Natalia Castro is handily leading the team in digs, scooping up 115 balls for a 3.4 dig per set average.

The Owls will look to increase their win count as they battle some of the top teams in California.

Citrus continues on its seemingly perpetual road trip as they travel to Pasadena City College for a double header vs Pasadena and Mt. San Jacinto today. The Owls' first home game is scheduled for Friday, September 28 at 6:00 PM vs Cuesta.
