Renegades Run Away with Conference Opener

Citrus College opened Western State Conference action Wednesday evening, but couldn't hold off Bakersfield College, falling 3-0 (25-14, 25-18, 25-16).

The Owls slip to 3-13 on the year and start conference at 0-1, while the Renegades improve to 5-5 on the year and begin WSC play at 1-0.

McKenna Cooper led the Owls with eight kills, followed by Faith Evaro with seven kills. Raegen Johnson finished the night with 12 assists, while Mychaela Ortiz posted a team-high 13 digs.

Citrus has a tough test in front of it, hosting No. 23-ranked Santa Monica College on Friday at 6 p.m.
