Bio

Shin Jung has been coaching the Fighting Owls for over 20 years, first beginning as an assistant coach before taking over the Citrus Volleyball program in 2007. During his tenure, the Owls have won four conference championships, participated in seven playoffs, and moved several players onto four-year schools. In addition to his duties with the volleyball program, Jung also works full-time as the equipment manager for the Citrus College Athletics Department.

Between the 2012 and 2013 seasons, Jung helped put together two of the better seasons in program history. In 2012, the Owls went 14-9 and qualified for the post-season for the first time in six seasons. Citrus did it again in 2013, going 15-9 overall, including a 9-3 mark in WSC South play en route to their second straight playoff berth. Coach Jung believes success is in seeing his players matriculate and move on to careers after Citrus. He has sent over 30 athletes to several Division 1, Division 2, Division 3, and NAIA schools and has had players graduate from USC, APU, ASU, Cal State Fullerton, San Francisco State, Cal State San Marcos, Cal State San Bernardino, etc.

Besides coaching at Citrus, Jung also has played a pivotal role in several Southern California Volleyball Clubs, having spent time with San Gabriel Volleyball Club, Top Gun Volleyball Club, ProPlay Volleyball Club, Mission Volleyball, and is now with Club Heights Volleyball as the Coaching Coordinator. All in all, Jung has over 30 years of experience on the club circuit, and in that time, Jung has taken several teams to the junior nationals.

Jung is an avid golfer and has run nine marathons.

Shin and Becca Jung married in 2021 and have a daughter.
