The Citrus College Women's Water Polo team, who is fresh off of a loss in the WSC Conference Championship match on Saturday, sets their sights forward as they face off today in the first round of the Southern California Regional Championships at LA Valley College. The Owls, who coasted their way into the Conference Final match with preliminary round wins over LA Pierce and Cuesta, seemed to carry the momentum into the finals against conference leader Santa Barbara, who had been undefeated in conference play all season. But the Vaqueros played composed and efficient, holding off the Owl offense and maintaining their lead through the end of the match.

The Fighting Owls have had an impressive season, showing great improvement and poise as the season has progressed. They will take that experience and wisdom, along with their #6 seed, into the SoCal Regionals as they open the tournament against San Diego Mesa at 3:15 PM at the LA Valley pool. San Diego Mesa has been undefeated in their conference this year, and is not a team to be taken lightly, especially after the stoke of their Conference Championship Saturday over Palomar.

The Owls go into Regionals with a 16-9 overall record and a 7-2 WSC Conference mark.
