Women's Water Polo: Water Owls Stomp Santa Monica

Citrus Women's Water Polo picked up an easy win at at Santa Monica Wednesday, beating the Corsairs 20-3 in what was a one-sided match. 

The Owls' roster loaded up on stats, as 9 different players scored at least a goal in the effort. Kortney Molle, Hannah Long, Cameron Schween and Rachel Sherman all recorded 3 goals on the day to lead the Owl offense. 

Defensively, the Owls played  a solid game. Goalie Ceraiah Riley came up with 8 saves on 11 shots faced, while Breanna Bailey and Keylee Burke snagged 5 and 4 steals, respectively. Overall the Owls recorded an impressive 22 steals in the match. 

The Owls continue to dominate the California State water polo scene, as they maintain their #5 statewide ranking and likely a good seed going into regionals. The ladies are back in action again next Wednesday in a WSC Championships Play-in game against Santa Monica.  That game will be at Citrus, start time TBA. The winner of that game moves on to the WSC Championships at Ventura College on Friday and Saturday the 8th and 9th of November.
