San Jacinto, CA - The Citrus College Baseball team won their third straight game, a season high win streak for the Owls, on Saturday afternoon with a 9-2 victory at Mt. San Jacinto College. Sophomore pitcher Aaron Bernal entered the game in the fourth inning and picked up his second win of the season, while sophomore Marcos Campos drove in a team high three RBIs in the win.

Citrus helped give Bernal and company a lead on the afternoon, with one run via a RBI single from freshman Benjamin Aguilera to center field. In the fifth, the Owls helped blow the game wide open with five runs. Campos started the inning off with an 2-RBI single to left, while freshman Donovyn Curiel would score a few plays later on a wild pitch. Freshman Andre Flores would lift a sacrifice fly to right field, followed by freshman Kristian Scott scoring on an error by the Eagles to make it 6-0.

Mt. San Jacinto would get one run back in the bottom of the seventh, but a squeeze by sophomore Jordan Achay would erase it in the top of the eighth. The Eagles would score their final run in the bottom of the eighth, until Campos helped slam the door shut in the top of the ninth with an RBI triple and then score on a passed ball to help seal the deal.

With the win, Citrus improves to 5-6-1 on the year. The Owls will be back on the road on Tuesday night at East Los Angeles College. First pitch is set for 5:00 PM.
