Victorville, CA - After being shutdown on Sunday afternoon, the Citrus College Baseball team regained their form on Tuesday afternoon in WSC East play against Victor Valley College. The Owls recorded a season high 19 hits and scored a season high 14 runs in a 14-9 in Victorville.

The Owls wasted little time in setting the tone for the game getting a pair of 2-RBI doubles from freshman Benjamin Aguilera and sophomore Kyosuke Ushimaru. Aguilera would drive in another run in the top of the second with another RBI double to make it 5-1. Victor Valley would stage a comeback over the next four innings, scoring three in the second, two in the fourth, and one in the sixth to surge in front 7-5.

After going quite for five innings, Citrus' offense finally made some noise again starting in the top of the seventh when freshman Jesse Villalobos got things going with an RBI double to right field. Sophomore Jacob Gafford would follow that up by driving in two with a single through the right side of the field, while sophomore catcher Jordan Achay made it 9-7 after scoring on an error by the Victor Valley pitcher.

The Rams would get a run back in the bottom of the seventh, but the Owls used a triple to right field that scored a pair from Ushimaru and an RBI single by Achay in the top of the eighth to go back up five. Freshman Andre Flores would nail the game down in the top of the ninth with a two-run shot to left field to put the Owls at their 14 runs.

In the win, Flores would finish 4 for 6 with two RBIs and three runs scored. Ushimaru finished 4 for 4 with 4 RBIs and a pair of runs, and Villalobos was 2 for 4 with an RBI and two runs scored.
