Glendora, CA - For the second straight game, the Citrus College Baseball team couldn't quite get it going against College of the Canyons. The Owls struggled against the Cougars, surrendering 15 hits, while being held to just five in a 9-1 loss.

Eight of Canyons' nine total runs came in the first four innings. The Cougars scored three in the second, two in the third, and three more in the fourth to run out to an 8-0 lead. The Owls wouldn't even put a run on the board until the bottom of the fifth when freshman Donovyn Curiel hit an RBI single to right-center that plated sophomore Jordan Achay.

Sophomore Marcos Campos finished 2-for-3 on the day, while Achay 2-for-4 with the run. Freshman Daniel Guerrero was solid on the mound, pitching the final five and a third innings. He gave up just five hits, one run, no walks, and struck out four Cougars.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 18-16-2 overall and 8-6-1 in WSC East play. The Owls will close out the regular season series with the Cougars when they travel to Santa Clarita on Saturday for a 1:00 PM tilt.
