The Citrus Owls Baseball team hosted Ventura College on Friday for a non-conference regional matchup. The Pirates got the best of the Owls, beating the home team 22-5.

Teppei Fukuda sent a missile over the left field fence in the bottom of the 3rd that drove in Michael Devis and Tyler Kretschmar for the Owls' first runs of the game. In the bottom of the 4th, Ethan Cummins took his turn over the left field fence with a solo shot. In the bottom of the 7th, Thomas Chavez cracked a single to right center that scored Alejandro Loera, which ended up being the Owls' 5th and final run of the game.

The Owls slide to 1-5-1 on the year. But with a lot of baseball left to play this spring, Citrus is sure to find its groove and post some more wins. The Owls take the field again Saturday when they play host to San Bernardino Valley College. First pitch is scheduled for 1:00 PM at Citrus.
