Citrus Baseball wrapped up it's WSC East season series with College of the Canyons on Saturday after a 3 game run against their conference foe this week. The Owls split the 4 game season series with the Cougars, going 1-2 in the final 3 game stretch.

The first game came on Tuesday on the road for Citrus. The Owls were shutout by Cougar pitcher Brendan Henry who pitched a complete game, dropping the matchup 0-6.

Only 3 batters posted hits on the day. Kanta Kobayashi went 2 for 4 with a pair of singles; Thomas Chavez notched a double; and Teppei Fukuda recorded a base hit.

The 2 teams met up again Thursday, this time at Citrus, and the Owls topped the Cougars 6-4. Eight players notched a single base hit on the day and eight players drove in a run. Ethan Cummins recorded a double.

Mario Castro got the win on the mound, and Samuel Gomez got the save, striking out 5 batters out of 11 he faced.

Citrus moves to 11-14-1 overall in 2019, with a WSC East record of 7-4.

The Owls take the field next week against Barstow to round out that season series. The 3 games are scheduled for Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday.
