Citrus Baseball played a quick 2 game series against local rival Mt. San Antonio College this week, dropping both contests.

Tuesday's game at home was a barn burner that went extra innings. The game didn't take long to heat up, with both teams asserting themselves at the plate and making short work of each other's pitching. Mt. SAC would go off in the top of the 1st, scoring 4 runs in a quick barrage that put the Owls on their heels. But Citrus would immediately bounce back, going on a monster run of their own. The Owls put 5 runs on the board to take the early lead.

The teams would exchange blows throughout the rest of the game, keeping the score tight all the while. But it was the 2 run 9th that tied the score and sent the game into extra frames. The teams would remain tied through 11 innings, when the Mounties came to life, assembling a small rally that scored 2 runs, solidifying the win for the visitors.

Thursday's game at Mt. SAC had a slightly different feel, as Citrus struggled to get runs across the plate. The Mounties controlled the game for much of the time, and the home team would top the Owls 8-2.

With the pair of losses, Citrus falls to 14-19-1 and with no chance of hitting the .500 mark, there will be no playoffs in 2019 for the Diamond Owls.
