Citrus College completed the series sweep over West LA with a 6-2 victory on the road Saturday.

The Owls improve to 14-12 on the year and 7-2 in the Western State Conference-South, sitting in second place in the standings. The Wildcats slip to 5-18 on the year and 2-7 in conference with the loss.

Conner McKinney was almost unstoppable, going 4-for-5 at the plate with one run and one RBI. Jared Gener went 3-for-4 with one run and an RBI, while Nicholas Santiago also had multiple hits, finishing 2-for-4 with a run and one RBI.

Ryan Luiz Harney picked up the win with 6.2 innings of action, tossing six strikeouts. Kaj James grabbed a save with three strikeouts in 2.1 innings on the mound.

West LA took a 1-0 lead in the fifth, but Citrus responded with five runs in the top of the sixth. Chad Green led the inning off with a double before McKinney joined him on base with a base hit. Green tagged up from third on a Dillon Swim sacrifice fly to tie the game before Santiago drove McKinney in with a single.

The Wildcats managed to get the second out, but the Owls weren't done. After an error plated Robert Moreno, Gener tripled to send Santiago home and rounded third on an error to put the Owls in front 5-1.

Robert Valdivia capped the scoring for the Owls off a McKinney RBI double in the seventh to seal the 6-2 victory for the visitors.

Citrus has a big test in front of it, opening a three-game series with No. 6-ranked Glendale College – which sits in the top spot of the WSC-South standings – on Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. on the road. The Owls return home on Thursday, also at 2:30 p.m.
