Wilmington, CA -- The Citrus College Football team closed out their 2013 campaign on Saturday evening at Los Angeles Harbor College. The Owls put together a dominate performance against the Seahawks, on both sides of the ball defeating Harbor 47-15.

Citrus got things done in nearly every facet of the game on Saturday, scoring on offense and defense. Freshman Sergio Gonzales-Loza put the Owls on the board with 9:44 to go in the first quarter with a 30 yard field goal. Six minutes later the Owls were up 10-0, when freshman defensive back Charles Flowers intercepted a Harbor pass and took it 54 yards to the house.

The Owls kept it rolling in the second quarter, opening it up with a 24 yard touchdown pass from freshman Larry Cutbirth to freshman Raphael Barr. Sophomore linebacker Darius Andres then made it 24-0 when he picked up a fumble on the Harbor five yard line and carried it into the end zone. Citrus thought they would close out the half with a 38 yard field goal from freshman Jaime Toscano, but the one area where Citrus arguably struggled as they gave up a 84 yard kick-off return for a touchdown to close out the first half.

Despite the issues on special teams, the Owls kept rolling in the second half. Sophomore Andrew Cameron took over at quarterback and got his first passing touchdown of the year when he found sophomore Robbie Haines from one yard out. Cameron struck again at the close of the third quarter when he connected with freshman Brayton Newton for a 16 yard score. Cameron closed out his stellar second half when he found Barr for a 77 yard strike.

In the win, Cameron was 16 of 21 for 226 yards and 3 TD's. Barr caught four passes for 122 yards and a pair of scores. On the defensive side of the ball Andres racked up a game high 11 tackles to go alone with half a sack, 1.5 tackles for a loss and the fumble recovery for a score. Sophomore linebacker Maurice Dupleasis added seven tackles, and sophomore defensive back Braxton Brown had a pair of picks and three pass break-ups.

With the win, Citrus closes out the regular season with a 7-3 record and 4-2 in Central Conference play. The Owls will be playing again next Saturday in a SCFA Bowl Game to be determined tomorrow afternoon. Stay tuned to www.citrusowls.com for all of the information.
