Glendora, CA - Former Citrus College running back Marcus Knight is currently in the midst of a record-breaking campaign at the University of Montana. The former Owl, who played for Citrus in 2018, has broken the single season rushing touchdown mark and the single season total touchdown record for the Grizzlies.

Knight has carried the ball 215 times for Montana so far this season for a total of 1,005 yards. He's averaged 4.7 yards per carry, with a long of 45 yards. The records came via his nose for the end zone. Knight has so far rushed for 23 touchdowns and caught a pair of touchdown passes for a total of 25. The previous record for rushing touchdowns was 22 back in 2009, and total touchdowns 24, also in 2009.

As a freshman at Citrus last year, Knight helped the Owls to a 7-4 mark. He carried the ball 130 times for 912 yards and eight scores. He averaged 7.0 yards per carry, the eighth best mark in the entire State that season. For his efforts he was named a 1st team All-American Division Mountain League selection and a California Community College Football Coaches Association Region III 1st team All-California honoree.

Knight and the Grizzlies are still in the NCAA Division I Football Championship Subdivision playoffs, and have a quarterfinal matchup with #3 Weber State in Ogden Utah this coming Friday, after defeating Southeastern Louisiana in the 2nd round of the playoffs. Friday's game will be broadcast live on ESPN2, with kickoff set for 8:00 PM.
