Santa Monica, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Basketball team dropped a pivotal game on Wednesday evening. The 73-68 loss to host Santa Monica College, dropped them a game back of their opponent in the WSC South standings and made their playoff chances that much more difficult.

The game would be tight throughout, but turnovers would ultimately doom the Owls. Citrus turned the ball over 20 times on Wednesday night, there highest turnover total in WSC South play this season. The result was the five point loss to the Corsairs.

Sophomore Kerry Carter posted a double-double in the loss with 19 points and 11 rebounds. Sophomore Steven Thornton Jr. added 12, while sophomore Gregory Sequele and freshman Terrell Todd each had 10.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 12-10 on the year and 5-4 in WSC South play. The Owls will try to bounce back at home on Saturday night when they host Bakersfield College in their regular season finale in the Owls' Nest at 5:00 PM.
