Riverside, CA -- After Thursday afternoon's convincing win over Fullerton College, it looked like the Citrus College Men's Basketball team were getting themselves back on track after a pair of back to back losses. It doesn't look like the Owls are there yet though, as they suffered another setback falling to El Camino College-Compton Center in the Consolation Semi-Finals of the Riverside Holiday Tournament on Friday afternoon 89-82 in overtime.

Citrus worked themselves into an early hole against the Tartars trailing by as much as eight with seven minutes left in the first half. The Owls went into the half trailing, but rallied back in the second half sending the game into overtime tied up at 77-77 after a last second attempt didn't fall for Citrus. The Owls struggled to put the ball in the basket in the final five minutes, but only trailed by two with 30 seconds to go. Still the Owls were outscored 6-1 over that 30 second stretch as they fell by seven.

In the loss, Citrus was led by freshman Chris Reyes who continued to light it up with 21 points and 15 rebounds. Freshman Steven Polee Jr. had a coming out game with 18 points in his first start of the year, while freshman point guard Justin Childress had 17 points and four assists.

With the loss, Citrus falls to 5-4 on the year. The Owls will get a chance to pay back the Tartars on Tuesday when they host them at the Owls' Nest for a 5:00 PM tip.
