Lancaster, CA -- For 20 minutes, Citrus College Men's Basketball program went toe to toe with State #5 Antelope Valley College. At the half, Citrus trailed by just three points and were in a position to compete well into the second half. That didn't happen though as the Owls had a second half let down, en route to a 83-56 loss.

Nothing came easy for Citrus on the night as they shot just 32.3% from the floor, 18.2% from three, and a miserable 42.9% from the free-throw line. The Owls also turned the ball over 19 times. The lone highlight for Citrus was the play of freshman Chris Reyes, who scored 28 points, grabbed 22 rebounds, and blocked eight shots.

With the loss, Citrus fell to 13-8 overall and 6-4 in WSC South play. The Owls have two games remaining on their 2014 conference schedule starting with a crucial trip to LA Valley College on Saturday for a 5:00 PM tip. The Monarchs shocked the Owls earlier in the season in Glendora 70-67.
