Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Basketball team opened up their WSC South home slate on Saturday afternoon with a rout. The Owls took awhile to get going, trailing by three points with four minutes left in the first half, but outscored the Vaqueros 64-19 in a 93-51 victory.

The Owls did jump out to an early lead in the contest, scoring 10 of the first 16 points in the first three and half minutes. Glendale wasn't going to go down easily though, and the Vaqueros quickly turned a four point deficit into four point lead with 13:54 to go. Glendale would hang onto that lead for most of the next nearly ten minutes, with Citrus only briefly regaining the lead on a dunk from sophomore Chaunce Hill and a three pointer from sophomore John Roach.

Glendale was quickly back on top though, and looking like they were primed for an upset. The Vaqueros led by four with 5:23 to go and three at the aforementioned 4:08 mark. That's when the Owls turned on the jets. Citrus closed the half on a 16-2 run to take a 45-34 lead into halftime. In the second half Citrus kept it going scoring 20 of the first 24 points. At that point it was all Citrus, as the Owls cruised to the 42 point win.

In the win, Citrus had 13 different players score. Roach led the team with 15, all coming in the first half, while sophomore Justin Childress added 12. Sophomore Dominique Walker 11 points and seven assists. Rounding out the double-digit scoring nights was freshman Bishop Hardy, who came off the bench to score 10 points in 14 minutes of action.

With the win, Citrus improves to 9-5 on the year and 2-0 in WSC South play. The Owls will be back at home on Wednesday night when they host a solid Bakersfield College (11-5, 1-1)at 5:00 PM.
