Bakersfield, CA - After a two hour trip up the 5 to the 99 Freeway, the Citrus College Men's Basketball team found themselves struggling to get going at first place Bakersfield College. The Owls fell in an early hole and never dug themselves out in a 83-70 loss to the Renegades.

Bakersfield came out ready, as the Owls came out flat. The Renegades jumped out to an early lead, and led by 11 at the break. The Owls would make a run at Bakersfield midway through the second half, pulling to within six with just under 12 to play, but the Renegades rallied with a 16-5 run that put the game out of reach for good.

Sophomore Mark Williams would lead all scorers with a game high 18 points in the loss. Freshman Kenneth Cyprian added 15, a team high nine rebounds, and a team best four assists.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 10-11 overall and 4-4 in WSC South play. The Owls will be back at home on Wednesday for a crucial conference contest when they host Antelope Valley College at 7:00 PM.
