Woodland Hills, CA - The Citrus College Men's Basketball team extended their current win streak to three games on Saturday evening with a 84-71 victory over host Los Angeles Pierce College. The Owls overcame an early slow start that saw them not reach double-digits until nearly the midway point of the first half, before they cruised to the 13 point win.

The Owls would trail in the game as late as the 4:36 mark in the first half when sophomore Calvin Martin took a pass from sophomore Donn-Christian Corbin, laid the ball up and in off the glass, all while being fouled. Martin would hit the ensuing free-throw and a one-point deficit turned into a two-point 18-16 lead. Citrus would close out the half on a 16-9 run, heading into halftime leading 34-25.

In the second half, Citrus would push their lead to a much as 24 points late in the second half when sophomore Kenneth Cyprian hit a two to make it 76-52. At that point, the lead would never be in question as the Owls went on to that 13 point victory.

Freshman Khalil Williams would lead all scorers in the game, with 24 points, and adding 10 boards for good measure. Martin would add 16 and a game high 17 boards, while freshman Jeremy Smith scored 12.

With the win, Citrus improves to 10-2 on the year. The Owls will head North this weekend to participate in the Kris Kringle Invitational hosted by Santa Rosa Junior College. Citrus opens up with Mendocino College (1-6) at 4:00 PM on Friday.
