Close Call In 66-63 Win Over Palomar

Close Call In 66-63 Win Over Palomar

Citrus Men's Basketball competed in day 2 of the Chaffey College Men's Basketball challenge tournament Thursday and topped Palomar College 66-63.

Citrus was led by Austin Clarke who contributed 4 three pointers, leading to 19 points and also pulled in 5 rebounds. Citrus struggled from the field relative to their season averages, netting just 66 points on 33.8% shooting, a stark drop off from the norm for the Fighting Owls who average 83.8 points per game this season.

But the three point shooting aptitude has continued for Citrus who ranks second in the state in three point field goals and have at least 7 shooters who pose a threat from beyond the arc. Citrus will hope to ignite the spark with long range shooting as they take on Chaffey College in the tournament final tonight at 6:00. Citrus will look for revenge on the Panthers after the Owls dropped only its 3rd game of the year to them at the Compton Tartar Classic in December.
