Men's Basketball Seals the Deal on 3rd Consecutive WSC East Title

For the third consecutive season, the Citrus Men's Basketball team has clinched the Western State Conference East title. The Owls had solidified the title previously, but Friday's win against Victor Valley marked the official end of conference play. The Owls were perfect in conference with a 10-0 record.

In Friday's win at Victor Valley, the Owls put together a tremendous team effort, with all but one player on the roster scoring points. Citrus won the game 91-57, one of the largest margins of victory of the season. The Owls shot an impressive 55% from the field and the Citrus bench outscored the Victor Valley bench 40-15. The Owls led the entire game, with the largest lead coming in the 2nd half when Citrus went up by 37.

Josh Caston led the way offensively and on the glass, scoring 30 points and hunting down 9 rebounds. Toby Okwuoki chipped in 13 points and Psalm Maduakor posted 11.

Citrus improves to 22-6 overall and advances to the Southern California Regional Playoffs on Saturday when it hosts the winner of Pasadena City College and Cuesta College. Tipoff is scheduled for 7:00 PM.
