The Owls improve to 5-1, while the Spartans slip to 2-5.

Four other Owls also finished in double figures with Jayden Johnston – also with a hot hand – posting 12 points (4-for-4) and Anthony Tello, Dylon Davis and Nate Crowley each added 10 points.

The game started close for the first five minutes, but Leonard Turner sparked a 10-0 run to create some distance for Citrus. Harper and Crowley each got in on the run to put the Owls up 28-11.

Just before the buzzer sounded to end the half, Harper drained a three from the corner off a Chris Chiles assist to give Citrus a 53-27 upper hand at the break.

The Owls kept rolling and built a 40-point lead off a Harper trey halfway through the half. It almost gave way to a 50-point lead with five minutes left as Davis banked in a layup off a Crowley assist, 86-39.

MiraCosta put a run together to try to chip away at the deficit, but the Owls wouldn't let the Spartans get too close as they held on for a 94-54 victory.

Citrus is back in action on Friday, Dec. 3, as it hosts Victor Valley at 4:00 p.m.
