After finding itself in a double-digit hole early, Citrus College battled back and ran away with a 101-82 victory over Santa Monica College.
The Owls improve to 18-6 overall and 9-2 in the Western State Conference-South. The Corsairs drop to 10-14 on the year and 4-6 in conference.
Anthony Tello came off the bench to lead the Owls with 22 points on 7-of-10 shooting. He also dished out a career-high eight assists without turning the ball over. Four other Owls joined Tello in double figures, with Chris Harper finishing with 16 points, Francis Dogani added 15 points, and Dylon Davis and Cedric Reed chipped in 13 and 12 points, respectively.
Citrus called a timeout trailing 13-2 and went on a 10-2 run to pull back within one possession, 15-12. The Owls knocked down three triples during the scoring spree, including two from Dogani.
The Corsairs jumped back in front by two possessions, but Tello sparked an 8-0 run with the first six points to put the Owls in front, 23-21.
From there, it was all Citrus as the home team coasted to the 101-82 victory.
The Owls head to College of the Canyons on Saturday for a 3 p.m. tip off.
