Citrus Rains Down On LA Valley

No. 5-ranked Citrus College powered through to a 78-61 victory over LA Valley Saturday night, moving into sole possession of first place in the Western State Conference-South standings in the process.

The Owls improved to 16-2 overall and kept their unbeaten in conference record at 4-0 with their 13th-straight win, while the Monarchs drop to 8-10 on the year and 3-1 in the WSC-South.

Four Owls finished the night in double figures with Uriah Foster leading the charge. He posted 16 points on 6-of-9 shooting, including a couple of big-time dunks. Jayden Johnston followed with 14 points (5-for-12), while Jamal Briscoe (3-for-5) and Chris Chiles (2-for-5) each scored 11 points. Chiles also dished out seven assists while only turning the ball over once and added two steals defensively.

Aibigho Ujadughele led the Owls' efforts off the glass with eight boards on the night.

The Owls – who boast a 20-point scoring margin over their last three games – look to continue their reign of dominance on the road, heading to Glendale College on Wednesday for a 7 p.m. tip.
