Owls Take Second at WSC Bakersfield

Bakersfield, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Golf team had their best team round of the year on Monday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Bakersfield College at Rio Bravo Country Club. The Owls shot a 385 and finished in second place out of the seven competing teams their best finish in recent memory.

Sophomore Jacob Rodriguez continued to lead the charge firing a 72, the best round for any player on the day. Sophomore Daniel Olivas shot a 74, finishing in a three way tie for the fifth best round of the day, while freshmen Richard Hunter and Homerson So both shot a respectable 79. Sophomore Brett Smith rounded out the scoring rounds with a 81.

The Owls will take a break from strictly WSC competition next week as they participate in the Santa Barbara Invitational. Day One of the event begins Sunday at Marshallia Ranch Golf Course with day two taking place on Monday at La Purisima Golf Course. Both days are set for 10:00 AM starts.
