Ojai, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Golf team finished a disappointing sixth at the Western State Conference Neutral Site event on Monday afternoon. After a hot early start to the year where Citrus was in the top four in each of the first three conference events, the Owls have no finished in the bottom half in the last two.

Sophomore Jacob Rodriguez led the way for the Owls with a round of 74, good enough for the seventh best round of the day. Fellow sophomore Brett Smith returned to action on Monday and carded a respectable 78. Freshmen Alex Cheng and John Gaynor continued to show improvement on Monday as each came into the clubhouse with a round of 79. Freshman Josh Davis rounded out the Owls' scoring with a 84.

As a team, Citrus shot a 394 overall. That was just three shots back of fifth place Bakersfield College, and 12 strokes out of fourth place Glendale College.

The Owls will try and rally next Monday April 1, when they take part in the WSC Event hosted by Allan Hancock College. Tee-time is set for 10:30 AM at Santa Maria Country Club.
