Poway, CA -- Citrus College freshman Takakazu Furukawa’s impressive 2014 season came to a close on Monday afternoon at the 2014 California Community College Athletic Association Southern California Championships. Furukawa, the Owls’ lone representative at the SoCal Championships, finished with a two round total of 161.

Pasadena, CA -- Citrus College freshman Takakazu Furukawa has advanced to the California Community College Southern California Men’s Golf Championships next weekend, thanks to his performance at Monday’s 2014 Western State Conference Championships. Furukawa paced the Owls with a two round total of 151, finishing 16th overall as an individual.

Freshman Joshua Herman had the second lowest round of the day on Monday at the WSC Event hosted by Glendale College, as he fired an 83.
Owls Fall Back to Sixth in Final Regular Season Match

Glendale, CA -- A week after finishing in third place at their home hosted Western State Conference Event, the Citrus College Men’s Golf team fell back to sixth place in the final regular season golf match of 2014. The Owls shot a combined 425 and won a card-off with Allan Hancock College at the WSC Event hosted by Glendale College at Oakmont Country Club.

La Verne, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Golf team played host to the rest of the Western State Conference on Monday afternoon, and came away with their best finish. The Owls posted a combined score of 369, finishing third place out of the eight competing teams.

Santa Maria, CA -- Citrus College freshman Takakazu Furukawa shot a two under par 70, and posted the third lowest individual round of the day last week at the WSC Allan Hancock tournament. As a team though, the Owls finished sixth overall out of the eight competing teams.

Freshman Benjamin Bencomo played his best round of golf this year on Monday afternoon, and finished up with the 12th best round of the afternoon.
Slow Climb

Palmdale, CA -- After starting out the 2014 Western State Conference season with a pair of fourth place finishes, the Citrus College Men’s Golf fell hard the next two matches with 8th and 7th place finishes in back to back matches. The Owls began their slow climb back into the upper half of the WSC on Monday as they had their best combined team round of the year, but still finished sixth at the WSC Antelope Valley Event.

Sophomore Matt Nolan had the lowest round for the Owls on Monday with a 79.
Owls Drop to Seventh at WSC Ventura

Ventura, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Golf team dropped to seventh place this past week at the Western State Conference Match hosted by Ventura College. The Owls finished with a team score of 402, in what was really a tight match in the middle as just 11 strokes separated the third and seventh place teams.

Lompoc, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Golf team took a break from Western State Conference competition this past weekend when they participated in the 2014 Santa Barbara City College Invitational. The Owls still went head to head with a number of other WSC schools, ultimately finishing in 6th place.

San Jacinto, CA -- Sophomore Homerson So paced the Citrus College Men’s Golf effort at the 2014 Eagle Golf Classic hosted by Mt. San Jacinto College. So shot a team low round of 74, as the Owls finished 12th out of the 17 competing teams.

Solvang, CA -- Citrus College sophomore Josh Davis fired a one over 73 on Monday afternoon at the WSC Event hosted by Santa Barbara City College. That was good enough for the second best round overall at the Alisal Ranch Golf Course, and helped lead the Owls to a fourth place finish out of the eight conference teams.

Valencia, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Golf team kicked off their 2014 Western State Conference Men’s Golf schedule on Monday when they participated in the WSC Event hosted by College of the Canyons. Out of the eight competing teams, the Owls took fourth at the first even of the year.

Victorville, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Golf team participated in the Victor Valley College Tournament at Spring Valley Lakes Country Club on Monday afternoon. The tournament paired the schools into three sets of two for a best ball format. Sophomore Joshua Davis and freshman Joshua Herman teamed up to post the best score for the Owls, carding a 71.
