Owls Finish Fourth at Tough WSC Glendale

Glendale, CA -- For the third time this season, the Citrus College Men's Golf team came up with a fourth place finish at a WSC Event this time the WSC Glendale Event at Oakmont Country Club. On one of the toughest courses of the season, the Owls posted a team score of 399 just seven strokes off third place Santa Barbara City College.

It was a trio of freshman atop the leader board for the Owls on a beautiful Monday afternoon. Freshmen Samuel Mangiaterra and Tyler Bliss both carded rounds of 76, which put them in a four way tie for 6th best round individually. Two strokes back of them was freshman James Bragger who came into the clubhouse with a 78, good enough for a four way tie in the 13th best round of the day.

After that it was Citrus' two sophomores who posted scoring rounds. Sophomore Justin Hung shot an 83, while sophomore John Gaynor posted a 86. The team total of 399 for the Owls was four strokes better than fifth place Allan Hancock College, who had an individual shoot two under par, and nine strokes in front of Ventura College who sits in third place overall in the conference.

With three rounds left in the 2015 regular season, the Owls are currently in fifth place overall. Citrus is just four points behind fourth place Glendale College and six points behind third place Ventura College, gaining two points on the Pirates this week.

The Owls will be back out on the links this coming Monday when they take part in the WSC Neutral Site Event at Olivas Links Golf Course.
