Owls Finish 4th in Conference Opener

Valencia, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Golf team opened up their 2016 Western State Conference schedule on Monday morning at the WSC Event hosted by College of the Canyons at Valencia Country Club. The Owls finished a respectable fourth place, but well behind the top three finishers.

Monday proved to be a tough day for nearly all teams involved with the average round checking in an 89. Freshman Brandon Dooley once again paced the Owl pack with an 82, good for a tie of 12th lowest round of the day. Sophomore Tyler Hoefferle finished two strokes back of him with an 84, while freshman Kurtis Carasik made his season debut with an 86.

After that it was sophomore's Benjamin Bencomo and Tyler Bliss who posted rounds of 87 and 89 respectively. As a team, the Owls shot a combined 428, 16 strokes back of third place Santa Barbara City College and 10 strokes in front of fifth place Allan Hancock College. Dooley was the only Owl to finish inside the individual Top 15.

The Owls will be back in conference action on Monday morning when they head to Solvang, CA for the WSC Event hosted by Santa Barbara City College. Tee-time is set for 10:00 AM at Alisal Ranch Golf Course.
