Santa Maria, CA - The Citrus College Men's Golf team is back in the Southern California Regionals for the second straight season after their fourth place finish at Monday's Western State Conference Finals. It's the first time that the Owls have qualified as a team for the SoCal Regionals in back-to-back seasons in recent memory.

The Owls opened the day up with a solid 391 in the first round, just eight strokes back of third place Santa Barbara City College and eight strokes in front of fifth place Glendale College. Sophomore James Bragger paced the pack for Citrus with a 75 that was the ninth lowest score of the round. Sophomore Trevor Perry contributed a 77, while freshmen Adam Dinaully and Joshua Strong added a 78 and 79 respectively. Sophomore Justin Orona added the last scoring round with an 82.

In the second round, Citrus saw their scores rise slightly, posting a combined 394. Freshman Aaron Coiner, Strong, and Dinaully all had 77's while Perry and Bragger had rounds of 81 and 82. No Owl would finish in the Top 10 of the second round scores of the two rounds combined, but Dinaully finished with a 155, Strong a 156, and Bragger a 157 all well within striking distance of the Top 10.

While Bragger didn't finish in the Top 10 in the final event of the season, he did finish the 2017 conference campaign in 7th place in the individual final standings. That was good enough to earn the sophomore All-Western State Conference honors for the season.

Bragger and the rest of the Owls will be back in action next Monday when they play a pair of rounds at El Camino Country Club in Oceanside, CA. Tee-time is set for 7:00 AM.
