Men’s Soccer Loses Season Finale

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team closed out their 2012 campaign on Friday afternoon in the friendly confines of Citrus Stadium when they hosted Western State Conference Rival Glendale College. Things didn’t end on a high note though, as the Owls lost to the Vaqueros 2-1.

Santa Monica -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team dropped their fourth straight match and sixth in their last seven on Tuesday afternoon at Santa Monica College. The Owls were shutdown offensively after being held to just six shots on the day in a 2-1 loss.

Santa Maria, CA -- For the first time this year, the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team lost their third straight contest. Allan Hancock College handed the Owls their third L in a row on Friday afternoon 3-1.

Santa Barbara, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team outshot their host team on Tuesday afternoon, and even stake themselves to an early 1-0 lead. The Owls couldn’t hang on though as they ended up falling to Santa Barbara City College 3-1.

Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team suffered their worst loss of the 2012 season on Friday when they played host to College of the Canyons. The Owls gave up a season high four goals and were shutout in a 4-0 loss.

Moorpark, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team went on the road on Tuesday afternoon and came back to Citrus with a 2-2 tie. The Owls actually led late, but a last minute Raider goal had the Owls settling for the tie.

Oxnard, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- For 89 of the 90 minutes of Tuesday afternoon’s contest at Oxnard, the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team was practically even with the #7 team in the State. Only a miscue midway through the first kept Citrus from a tie, in what ended up a 1-0 loss.

Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team gave up to very late goals on Friday afternoon when they hosted LA Mission College. For 88 minutes, the Owls were toe to toe with the second place team in the Western State Conference, but the final minute plus stoppage time were brutal in a 2-0 loss.

Glendale, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- After recording five goals in a win against Santa Monica on Friday, the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team kept their offense rolling on the road on Tuesday. The Owls scored four goals and won their second consecutive match in a 4-2 victory over Glendale College.

Glendora, CA (Men's Soccer) -- Sophomore Anier Valdez scored a hat trick, and the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team matched a program record for goals in a game on Friday afternoon in their 5-4 win over Santa Monica College. The nine goals in the contest was also the most goals scored in a game involving Citrus since 2010.

Glendora, CA (Men’s Soccer) -- Tuesday evenings Western State Conference contest inside Citrus Stadium saw 25 shots, 10 on goal, and four corners, yet when the whistle was blown neither team had scored. The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team hosted Allan Hancock College in a conference meeting as both teams settled for a 0-0 tie in a physical contest.
