Men’s Soccer Gets Five On All-WSC List

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team got five representatives on the 2013 All-Western State Conference List. Sophmore Silbestre Valencia highlighted the group as the only Owl to earn 1st team honors.

What A Way To Finish

Glendale, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team closed out their 2013 campaign on Friday evening at Glendale College. What a way to finish. The Owls exploded for seven goals as they closed out one of their best offensive seasons in program history.

Owls Tie Corsairs In Home Finale Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer program wrapped up their 2013 home slate on Tuesday afternoon when they hosted Santa Monica College. The Owls tied the Corsairs in their home finale, 1-1.

Owls and Bulldogs Duel to Scoreless Tie

Santa Maria, CA -- The Cirrus College Men's Soccer team took the long trip up the central coast and came back home darn near empty handed, as the Owls dueled with their host Allan Hancock College to a scoreless tie.

Freshman Daniel Ortiz had one of Citrus' four goals on the day on Tuesday afternoon. It was his second goal of the season.
Owls Knocked Out In Final Minutes

Glendora, CA -- In what was a back and forth affair, it was the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team that was knocked out in the final minutes of their Western State Conference South Division match-up with Santa Barbara City College. After erasing a two goal deficit in a span of four minutes, the Owls were dealt the final blow in the 88th minute in what ended up being a 5-4 loss.

Cornered

Santa Clarita, CA -- The Citrus College Men's Soccer team earned seven corner kicks on Friday afternoon in their WSC meeting at College of the Canyons. The host Cougars earned just three, but it was Canyons who put the Owls in the corner with a 3-1 win.

Justin Time

Glendora, CA -- Sophomore Justin Dryer’s header off a corner in stoppage time on Tuesday afternoon, came just in time for the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team. The goal gave the Owls a 2-1 win over visiting Moorpark College, completing an 0-1 comeback in the final seven minutes of the contest.

Freshman Grayson Iwasaki scored his 10th goal of the season for Citrus on Tuesday, a new single season record for the Owls, in a losing effort.
Owls Can’t Close Deal Against Oxnard

Glendora, CA -- For 45 minutes, the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team hung with first place Oxnard College. The Owls couldn’t close the deal though, as they gave up four goals over the final 45 minutes as they suffered a 5-1 loss.

Ebb

Encino, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team’s 2013 campaign has been full of ebbs and flows all season long. Lately, the Owls have been riding a nice flow, but Friday was an ebb for the Citrus as they suffered their first actual defeat on the field in nearly two weeks in a 5-1 loss at LA Mission College.

Five of a Kind

Glendora, CA -- Over the last three weeks, it could be argued that there’s been no hotter team in Southern California than the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team. In that span, the Owls have gone 4-1-1 and scored 20 goals in six matches, including a 5-1 win over Glendale College on Tuesday.

Freshman Michael Montoya got his first goal of the season on Friday afternoon, a score that tied the Owls' game up with Santa Monica at 1-1.
A Good Tie

Santa Monica, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team continued it’s recent impressive streak of play on Friday afternoon when it went on the road and picked up a good tie at Santa Monica College. The Owls earned a point in the conference standings and grabbed some power points to boot, as they tied the Corsairs 1-1.

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team was in seventh heaven on Tuesday afternoon in their Western State Conference contest with visiting Allan Hancock College. The Owls scored a program record seven goals, in a lopsided 7-1 victory over the Bulldogs.

A Big Rally

Santa Barbara, CA -- After dropping a tough 3-1 loss to College of the Canyons on Tuesday in a match that they thoroughly dominated the first half of, the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team could have packed it in. Instead, the Owls got a big rally on Friday when they defeated SoCal #10 Santa Barbara City College 2-1 in Santa Barbara for the first time in program history.

The Owls had a total of nine corners, while holding College of the Canyons to none, in their 3-1 loss on Tuesday.
Lost Chance

Glendora, CA -- After knocking off first place Moorpark College 4-0 last Friday, the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team looked like it was going to pick up right where it left off for the first 20 minutes of their home contest with College of the Canyons on Tuesday. Instead the Owls lost a chance to make a move, and couldn’t convert on their early offensive dominance in a 3-1 loss.

Explosive

Moorpark, CA -- After being handed four straight losses over the last three weeks, the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team finally proved what an explosive team they could be. Citrus scored four goals in the second half, all within a span of 20 minutes as they shocked first place Moorpark College 4-0.

The Citrus College Men's Soccer team generated very little offense in an 8-0 loss at Oxnard on Friday.
A Tough Pill to Swallow

Oxnard, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team took to the road on Friday afternoon to take on perennial WSC power Oxnard College. The Owls were forced to take a tough pill on the day, falling to the Condors 8-0.
