Owls Season Closes With Loss to Santa Monica

Glendora, CA - The Citrus College Men's Soccer team's 2015 season came to a close on Thursday afternoon. The Owls' rough campaign ended with the 2-0 loss to Santa Monica College.

Santa Maria, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team wrapped up their 2015 road schedule on Tuesday afternoon with their longest trip of the year. A jaunt up to Santa Maria, CA to take on Allan Hancock College in Western State Conference play. The trip was all for naught, as the Owls got out of dodge with a tie against the Bulldogs 1-1.

Glendora, CA -- Over the past ten seasons the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team has earned just two results against Oxnard College, and there’s good reason for that as Oxnard has been really, really good in that stretch, dominating the WSC on the whole. That trend continued on Friday afternoon when the Owls played host to first place Oxnard, as the Condors proved too much in a 4-0 loss for Citrus.

Better Late Than Never

Glendora, CA -- For a little over 70 minutes of Friday’s Western State Conference match-up with visiting Glendale College, the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team were kept on their toes. The Owls showed some real heart though and made a big comeback, proving that it’s better late than ever in a 2-1 win over the Vaqueros.

Freshman keeper Antonio Tomatani recorded his first career shutout, posting five saves in a 0-0 tie with LA Mission College on Tuesday.

Sylmar, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team hit the road this afternoon for a WSC meeting with Los Angeles Mission College. The Owls couldn’t find the back of the net, but Citrus was able to return the favor as they blanked Mission for a 0-0 tie.

Sophomore keeper Bryan Landgreen was a hard luck loser on Tuesday evening, stopping five shots and giving up a single goal in a 1-0 loss at Santa Barbara City College.

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team played host to College of the Canyons in Western State Conference action on Friday afternoon. The Owls were simply outplayed by the Cougars giving up a pair of goals in each half, losing 4-0.

Freshman Emilio Del Villar scored a goal and had an assist in Citrus' first win of the season.

Moorpark, CA -- It took eight games, but the Citrus College Men’s Soccer team found themselves on the right side of the scoreboard at long last on Tuesday afternoon. The Owls played a back and forth affair with host Moorpark College before edging the Raiders 2-0.

Oxnard, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer team hit the road on Tuesday afternoon to take on three-time defending champ Oxnard College who has dominated the overall series with the Owls since 2006. The Condors continued their stranglehold of the Owls, with a 3-0 win over Citrus.

Small Steps

Glendora, CA -- The Citrus College Men’s Soccer program took some small steps on Friday afternoon when they played host to visiting Los Angeles Mission College. While the Owls were left still searching for their first win this season at the end of the day, Citrus did put together it’s most impressive offensive output of the young season in a 4-3 loss to the Eagles.
