Men's Water Polo Primed For SoCal Regionals Friday

Men's Water Polo has had a stellar season to remember in 2017, and they look to make that even more memorable this weekend as they travel to LA Valley College to compete in the Southern California Regional Championships Friday. Citrus, who goes into the tournament as the #4 seed overall, will take on #5 seed Orange Coast. Citrus has faced Orange Coast once before this season, and dispatched the Pirates 14-8.

The Fighting Owls will look to right the ship after a gruelling, emotionally charged, sudden death overtime loss to LA Valley at the WSC Conference Championship at Citrus last Saturday. Citrus had been hard to beat all season, with all of their losses being to 4 year colleges, except losing a close 8-9 battle to none other than LA Valley back in October. Citrus rallied late in the 4th quarter to tie the score and looked to have the momentum going into extra time. But LA Valley was on top of their game and ultimately would prevail as the conference champions, by a score of 14-15.

Citrus goes into the Regional Championships with a 22-6 overall record.
