Men's Water Polo: Conference Home Opener Goes to the Pirates

Citrus Men's Water Polo kicked off its 2019 Western State Conference competition on Wednesday when they hosted Ventura College for a match. The Pirates topped the Owls 17-8.

Goalie Jacob Perez saw a lot of action in the cage, with Ventura firing off 29 shots throughout the game. Perez came up with 12 saves and a drawn ejection. Chantz Gladden led the way on offense for the Owls, finding the goal 3 times and adding an assist, a steal, and 2 drawn ejections. Dominik Powell chipped in 2 goals and also drew 2 ejections. Gaige Chyrchel, Jonathan Yoon and Matthew Roebuck each scored a goal in the effort. 

The loss drops the Owls to 1-11 in 2019. The guys are in action again next Wednesday in a WSC conference game at LA Valley. Start time is 3:30 PM.
