The Citrus College Softball team hosted Palomar College for a doubleheader at Citrus today. The Comets asserted themselves, dispatching the Owls by scores of 4-2 and 8-0.

In the first game, Katie Kempton drove a double to left field that scored Becky Winder. Kempton would cross home plate after Megan Jones sent a single up the middle, scoring the 2nd and final run of the day for Citrus.

In game 2, the Comets piled on a monster 8 run 2nd inning and stayed solid on defense to see through the 5-inning mercy rule win.

Citrus slides to 1-3 early in the 2019 season, with a lot of ball left to play. The Owls have a week break in games to work out the kinks in practice, before they return to the diamond Friday in a triangular featuring Pasadena and Santa Ana. The Citrus games start at 1:30 and 6:00 PM on the 15th.
