Glendora, CA - It wasn't the homecoming the Citrus College Women's Basketball team had envisioned on Tuesday evening, but it was another step in their journey that is the 2016-2017 season. The Owls committed a season high in turnovers, and were outscored in each of the final three quarters in a 91-46 loss to visiting and SoCal #14 Los Angeles Trade-Tech College 91-46.

The Owls got the start they would have wanted, shooting 50% from the floor and holding the visiting Beavers to under 30% shooting. Citrus would outscore the Beavers 15-11 in the first 10 minutes, but there was a nagging thing with the turnovers early, that the Owls couldn't shake and would come back to haunt them as the game progressed.

Things would take a turn for the worse in the second quarter as Trade-Tech used a big spot to outscore Citrus 24-7 in the frame. The Owls would find a bit more offense in the third quarter, but couldn't keep Trade-Tech from taking advantage of more Owl turnovers as Citrus was outscored by 10. By the time the fourth rolled around, the game was well out of reach, but the Beavers kept their foot on the gas, scoring a game high 32 in the fourth quarter.

In the loss, Citrus was paced by sophomore Jessica Rosas who scored a team high 18 points, Sophomore Marisa Brown was the only other Owl in double-digits with 11 points and a team high 7 boards and 6 blocks.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 1-6 overall. The Owls will take the Thanksgiving weekend off before returning to CCCAA play a week from Friday in the 33rd Annual Lady Charger Classic hosted by Cypress College. Citrus opens the weekend up against undefeated and State Runner-Up East Los Angeles College at 8:00 PM.
