Glendora, CA – The Citrus College Women's Basketball team once again suffered another slow start, and couldn't keep up with a more powerful Los Angeles Valley College team. The Owls did manage to outscore the Monarchs at the second half by two points, but their 23 point halftime deficit was too much to overcome.

LA Valley would open the game on a 20-2 run and never really allow Citrus to get into the game. Citrus went just 1 for its first five from the floor and committed five of it's 18 total turnovers in that stretch. Sophomore Jessica Rosas would finally break up the stretch with a jumper, but the Owls never made it close.

Rosas would finish with a game high 23 points, handing out a team best five assists in the process. Freshman Cassandra Martinez had 12 points, while sophomore Marisa Brown also finished with 12 points and added a team high eight rebounds.

With the loss, Citrus drops to 5-17 overall and 1-5 in WSC East play. The Owls will go on the road on Wednesday when they take on Victor Valley College at 7:00 PM.
