The first Women's Basketball WSC East conference game of the 2018-19 is in the books. Citrus dispatched the Monarchs 45-36 to move to 1-0 in conference play and 12-7 overall.

The Owls relied on steady field goal shooting, sinking 46.5% of their shots and holding the Monarchs to just 26%. Despite struggles from the free throw line, Citrus controlled the flow of the game, leading by as many as 14 points.

The Owls continue to see strong all around performances by the tight-knit team en route to one of the best preseason records in recent history. Diana Navarro led the Owls in points with 11, dishing out 6 assists to her teammates and netting three 3 pointers. Celeste Fekay posted 10 points and 4 rebounds while Kyannie Brown chipped in 8 points and 4 rebounds, and swatted the Monarchs twice.

Citrus takes the floor again tomorrow night as they play host to conference foe Glendale at 7:00 PM. Glendale is also 1-0 in the WSC East having beat Barstow on Saturday.
