Women's Basketball travelled to Glendale on Wednesday to try and snag a share of the Western State Conference East title. The Owls fell short in the effort, succumbing to the home team and dropping the game 43-60. The Owls pick up their 2nd conference loss of 2018-19, both of them coming at the hands of WSC East leader Glendale, and now sit squarely in the #2 spot.
The Owls struggled with shooting all night, sinking just 32.7% of their field goals and only 12.5% from long range. Considering the Vaqueros were 43% from the field and 33.3% from the arc, it was an uphill battle for the Owls.
A highlight for Citrus was leading offensive weapon Kyannie Brown, who found a way to score 20 points on the night, also grabbing 8 boards and 3 steals. Malia Rocha pitched in 10 points off the bench.
Citrus moves to 16-9 overall and 5-2 in conference play with just 3 games left in the regular season. The Owls take the court again Saturday when they host Barstow for a 5:00 PM tipoff.
