Citrus Women's Basketball wrapped up 2018-19 Western State Conference East competition on Friday. The Owls travelled to Victor Valley for the WSC East finale and lost a heartbreaker 43-44. Citrus still remains locked in the #2 spot in the conference with a 7-3 mark. The Owls are 18-10 overall.

The loss Friday still allows for a playoff berth for the Owls. The Owls play at Cerritos College Wednesday at 7:00 PM to open the Southern California Regional Playoffs.

In Friday's game, the Owls battled the Rams throughout the contest. With 6 ties and 6 lead changes, both trams were putting their best foot forward. Although Citrus outplayed the home team in almost every statistical category, the deciding factor was a low scoring 4th quarter for the Owls that allowed the Rams position within striking distance which they took full advantage of, regaining the lead with just 2 seconds remaining on a made free throw. The Rams would hold the lead and escape with the narrow win.

Citrus had several individuals with solid numbers. Diana Navarro led the way offensively, scoring 14 points. Navarro also grabbed 5 rebounds and dished out 4 assists. Malia Rocha contributed 12 points, snagging 5 rebounds and posting 4 steals. Keely wall hunted down 16 rebounds, stole the ball 3 times and recorded 3 shot blocks. Kyannie Brown was held to just 7 points, but grabbed 12 rebounds.
