Citrus College concluded the El Camino Crossover Friday night, dropping a 77-57 loss to Rio Hondo College.

The Owls drop to 2-4 overall, while the Roadrunners improve to 5-3 on the year.

Gabriela Valdez led the Owls with a career-high 22 points (8-for-12) after shooting 66.7-percent from the field, including 60-percent from deep. Giselle Garcia-Nunez also finished in double figures, scoring 10 points to go with 12 rebounds for her fourth double-double of the year. Cayla Williams was just one point shy of a double-double, posting nine points and 10 boards.

Despite a solid shooting night (40.7-percent from the field, 53.8-percent from distance) and winning the glass 42-to-37, Citrus couldn't overcome Rio Hondo's defensive efforts as the Roadrunners forced 40 Owl turnovers.

Citrus makes its home debut on Wednesday, hosting LA Pierce at 5 p.m. in the Owls' Nest.
