Citrus College took care of the ball and took care of business in an explosive 81-42 victory over Grossmont College to tip off the Cypress Tournament Friday afternoon.

The Owls improve to 3-4 on the year, while the Griffins drop to 0-2.

Four Owls finished the game in double figures, led by Gabriela Valdez's 21 points (5-for-9). Giselle Garcia-Nunez chipped in 20 points (5-for-9) off the bench and grabbed 14 rebounds for her fifth double-double of the year. Cayla Williams added 12 points (5-for-8) and Reanne Reola finished with 11 points.

Citrus dominated the glass 44-to-27 with Joceline Escamilla grabbing nine boards behind Garcia-Nunez.

The Owls take on Palomar College next, tipping off at 2 p.m. on Saturday at Cypress College.
