Santa Barbara, CA -- The Citrus College Women's Golf team came up just short on Monday afternoon at Santa Barbara Golf Club. The Owls finished just four strokes back of first place Santa Barbara City College, but instead had to settled for their third straight second place finish at an event with the Vaqueros.

Sophomore Jamie Lopez continued her strong play with a solid round of 74. Her 74, was the second best individual round of any golfer on the day. Teammate and usual partner in crime Lexandra So had an uncharacteristic round, carding a 79. Despite not being her usual self, that was good enough for a sixth place individual finish.

Freshman Alexis Tunstad finished three strokes back of So with a 82, good for the 8th best individual round of the day. Sophomore Brittany Thelen came into the clubhouse with the final scoring round for Citrus with a 90, just two strokes out of her first ever Top 10 finish.

As a team, the Owls combined to shoot a 325, again just four strokes back of first place Santa Barbara City College who shot a 321.

Citrus will continue their conference slate next Monday when they travel to Filmore, CA and Elkins Ranch Golf Course for the WSC Event hosted by College of the Canyons. Tee time is set for 10:00 AM.
